Building Laptop Help

by ObsoleteArturo / August 31, 2010 12:25 PM PDT

i don't know much about building laptops, in fact i don't know anything at all when it comes to building a laptop or gathering all the parts but what i do know is what specifications i want. I want to use:

-An intel i7 processor along with an intel motherboard if possible with at least 3.0 Ghz
- At least 1TB of internal hard drive at 7200rpm
- At least 4GB of memory DDR3
- And an nvidia, chipset on video card with dvi and hdmi connectors (sli)
I don't know if this is all possible on a laptop but PLEASE help a newbie out. If links can be provided to view each individual components please post them. Much appreciated

Sorry but can you share what companies are selling the "parts" for you to build a laptop? Once in a while a new member thinks you can build a laptop like they did a desktop.

Sadly we have to cover the basics about that. Here it is. There is no standards for motherboard and more items so you can't pick out parts and build a laptop today.

It would be for some make and model machine.

Are you new to the laptop scene? That is, you've been building desktops for years and thought there were standards in cases, power supplies and boards for laptops?

Don't fret it. That's a common misconception.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
