Building a Notebook-Whitebook?

From my understanding, I can buy a notebook chassis, and the parts and basically build my own notebook like I did w/ my desktop. Does anyone know about this? My source is this- http://forums.legitreviews.com/viewtopic.php?t=238&highlight=whitebook
Apparently this guy did it, but I am still confused on the subject since I have never heard of it before. Thanks

The idea comes up now and then.

But is often quashed under the reality no cost savings were found.

?

So you suggest to just order a custom built one instead of building my own?

Absolutely. And stick with the names.

You know the names.
