Building a new computer problems

Nov 17, 2005 11:02PM PST

I recently purchase the following components to build a new computer. They are: Antec Life Style sonata II case 450watt, Asus A8N-SLI Deluce Socket 939 motherbroad, AOpen GF6600GT-DV128 Geforce 6600GT 128MB GDDR3 Pci EXpress X16 Video Card, AMD Atholon 64 X2 3800+ 1 GHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core Porcessor, Corsair XMS 1 GB (2x512MB) 184-Pin DDR Sdram DDR 400 Unbuffered Dual, Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB harddrive. The DVD and CD rom I currently have. I haven't build one for about 6 yrs. The manuals are the worst for helping with installation but I finally got it put together. Now I have no video. Everything seems to be powering up fine. Does anyone have an idea where to start. I have try something and still no video.

Thanks

Dave

Do you have the Graphics card in the Blue PCIE x16 slot?

If you have it plugged into the black one it will not work.

The instructions actually gave me that one. They aren't worth much on the rest as far as I can see.
