I head to for drivers.
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / September 17, 2011 3:33 PM PDT

There are no drivers for CD and DVD. It's something folk that are new ask, but there are none, never will be unless you are talking about SCSI drives but then that's a SCSI card driver and again no CD/DVD driver.

Dell support
by Willy / September 17, 2011 8:51 PM PDT

Goto the control panel and start entering the system icon. Find the device listing and any with red or yellow flags need attention. More than likely these are lacking drivers. I would even try to proceed with anything else until that is resolved. Dell will provide the drivers, follow the prompts from the support website, enter your service tag#, etc. and proceed forward. Once done, then add any other device using its install s/w, etc. to finish the install. I also suggest you get the SPs and/or updates from MS for XP after doing the driver installs. These are up to XP SP3 release level. Do all that and then worry about routers, etc. afterwards.
