Build file error?

May 19, 2007 10:53AM PDT

I'm pretty new to Linux and am experiencing this problem. I have a feeling it's a pretty noob question. When I try to install ndiswrapper and run a make install, I get the following error: Can't find kernel build files in /lib/modules/2.6.18-1.2798.fc6/build;
give the path to kernel build directory with
KBUILD=<path> argument to make

Is this an easy fix? I have no idea how to do anything in Linux yet.

How one does this varies wildly depending on the distro. I'm running PCLinuxOS TR4 and it just worked. Tell more and will you consider another distro?

I'm running Fedora 6. I'd prefer to stay using that if possible as I'd feel like turning to another distro would be more like band-aiding a problem instead of trying to learn what is going wrong.

There are a lot of tutorials but your post is void of details and I don't ask for them since this is all volunteer. Some flame me over this but you have to get out and push as well as tell enough detail for others to see where the issue is.
