My boss wants me to build a site map using PowerPoint. He said something about an easy way to set one up using PowerPoint or a template or something, but I have NO IDEA what he's talking about. Can you help?

Thanks,
Christian

This was asked not long ago in alt.html

Ripped from various posts.

Visio, expensive.

Powerpoint/Word to create block diagrams.

OpenOffice.org draw program

http://www.smartdraw.com/resources/examples/software/websitemaps.htm

http://www.freefind.com/create-sitemap.html or
http://www.site-map.co.uk/

Then there is alwaws, URGH!! copy the site into MS FP and , use the
reporting tools / don't recall if the navigation page tool is
automatic or not.

Found this as well, from a quick www.google.com

http://www.html-indexer.com/

Try www.mozdev.org projects
same for http://sourceforge.net/ check the sortware map
site management has over 2000 projects
http://sourceforge.net/softwaremap/trove_list.php?form_cat=243

With that many pages, a web site contenet management system CMS
sounds like a way to go. This way any edits in the future are updated
automatically.

Saw this a while ago, but have not even looed at it yet for my own
use, still to learn XML/Java first.

RDF and Jena,

Automatically generate a Web site map using RDF and Jena
http://www.w3.org/RDF/
Primer
http://www.w3.org/TR/rdf-primer/

From the primer - The Resource Description Framework (RDF) is a
language for representing information about resources in the World
Wide Web. It is particularly intended for representing metadata about
Web resources, such as the title, author, and modification date of a
Web page, copyright and licensing information about a Web document,
or the availability schedule for some shared resource

My note - it's for processing with applications rather then for human
consumption. However the information can be output in about any form
you like, print, HTML, database, text one only has to write the
script / app to process the data.

That about covers it.
