I currently own a 2000 Buick Lesabre with a 3.8 V6 engine. I have maintained this car in good condition. The problem occurred when I started to back out of my driveway, the car suddenly stopped, as in the engine shut off. I was able to start it again and bring it forward back onto my driveway, then it stopped again. I decided to wait a bit, to see if that would do anything. After a while I started the car again with the hood up to see what was going on. The engine started revving itself without me giving any gas, and then smoke started to come from towards the top bottom of the engine. The smoke wasn't instant and it was not a great amount and it was clear white in color. The things that were in check is that it was 3/4 full of gas and I also check the oil and it was full.
Any help or repair advice would be much appreciated. And if i do have to take it into the shop i don't want to be charged for things that are unnecessary and not pertaining to the engine problem.
