A suggestion

Hey dude, i have a pentium D 820, it works great and supports the future technology "VIIV" but not all models have next-gen stuff, try to avoid any pentium D processor that ends in 5 (like 805, 845, etc etc) because they have less features, doesn't mean that they are slower.

Buy a Core 2 Duo E6300. The Core 2 Duo line is much more powerful than anything else released to this point. If you're not wanting to go that way (which, personally, I'd want the best performance for the price, so I would), then look towards AMD's Athlon x2 series. They tend to perform better than the Pentium D's.

Again, in order: Core 2 Duo E6300, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+, Pentium D 945. All of these are no more than $5 over the budget price you gave (the Pentium D is actually below it).

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
