Browsers (IE and Firefox) not connecting after updates

Jun 12, 2009 7:46AM PDT

Mozilla updated by itself and "Failed to Connect" but Internet Explorer was working fine. I tried unblocking Mozilla Firefox from the Windows Firewall but it didn't help.

Later, my laptop went through Automatic Updates and now BOTH Internet Explorer AND Mozilla Firefox can't connect to the Internet. I know I'm connected, though, because I can sign on AIM and MSN. So I'm connected to the Internet but my browsers aren't. Help? Seems to be the new updates caused the problem. Please help!

Just a note.

I've seen this as Norton and other antivirus suites expire. I can't explain why they designed it like that.
