"News.com has announced that the new versions 1.7.3 of Mozilla, 1.0 of Firefox RC and 0.8 of Thunderbird resolve ten security flaws.
Three of the vulnerabilities are considered critical, as they could allow an attacker to run arbitrary code on the affected system. The problems stem from inadequate handling of vCards, large BMP images and links including names with non-printable characters.
Other vulnerabilities have also been resolved which could allow Cross-Site Scripting, and access to and editing of data."
You need to get over the idea that those two browsers are any safer than Internet Explorer.
