Browser Redirect Virus - Need Help

My computer is infected with a redirect virus and i can't get rid of it. I've tried three different anti-virus sw (Spyware doctor, AVG, and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware) and none of them worked. I did use the free version and would gladly pay for the full version if i knew it would work. Any suggestions?

Ouch.

In reply to: Log Files

I have to wonder if you posted in forums that read those log files?

Btw.

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {472734EA-242A-422b-ADF8-83D1E48CC825} - (no file)

Is an orphan you can remove so when you post this, they won't think you didn't read the instructions.

And why do you have that shifty item called Somoto?
http://www.computing.net/answers/security/how-to-remove-somoto/33890.html

Quite odd to leave such a hijacker installed.

--> Let me be blunt. Did you research any of these entries?

No Computer Skills

In reply to: Ouch.

<span id="INSERTION_MARKER">When it comes to computers I'm a novice. So, I have no clue what to look for in a log file. I could go line by line googling each line to see what pops up, but i would have to use my smartphone sine I can't google anything on my computer right now. I have posted the logs on bleepingcomputer.com to see if they can help. I was hoping to avoid going to bestbuy or another computer store, since they would charge me a couple hundred to fix it when at the end of the day I could get a new computer for the same price.

No need to buy a new computer at all.

In reply to: No Computer Skills

Your hardware is OK, I assume. So the worst that can happen is that you have to reinstall your OS.
- Costs: 0.
- Time required: a few evenings to get everything back to normal

v120778..

If you posted the requested logs at Bleeping Computer, you WILL get the help you need. No matter your computer skills, they will walk you through the process.

It may take a couple of days for them to get to you, but they will respond to your post.

Best of luck ..

Also try..

In reply to: Browser Redirect Virus - Need Help

As Bob wrote, "It's a shame nothing more is told". That said, give the following a try:

Kaspersky's TDSSKiller
http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/solutions?qid=208280684

Had you included a description of the redirect (and how it came about), I might have also suggested you check the following:

Open IE and go to Tools>Internet Options>Connection Tab. Click on the LAN settings button. If you find a checkmark next to "Use a proxy server for your LAN", uncheck it. Click OK. Then OK, again.

Best of luck..
Carol
