Based on the error, it looks like you are not getting the correct DNS settings. Such things are usually pretty easy to fix from the command prompt with either a (no quotes) "ipconfig /flushdns" or "ipconfig /renew".
Also, you didn't by chance happen to accept any driver updates from Windows Update did you? If so, when you apply the updates again, make sure NOT to do that. Driver updates from Windows Update are a very common source of problems since Microsoft frequently modifies the drivers before distributing them. Like video drivers distributed via Windows Update will lack OpenGL support causing some games and programs to break. It is very strongly recommended to NEVER accept drivers via Windows Update.
I am running Win 7 Pro 64 bit & Internet Explorer. Starting 4-5 weeks ago when I start the computer, critical updates are installed. After the install, my email works fine but when I open the browser or try to access pages from my favorites I get the following message with the page address inserted:
This page can't be displayed
Make sure the web address http://g.msn.com is correct
Look for the page on your search engine
Refresh the page in a few minutes
Fix connection problems (button)
At the bottom of the page is: res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm
When I try the "Fix connection problems" button it is unable to find a solution.
So, I have been using System Restore to go back to early May. Then everything works fine. I realize this is not a good idea.
Does anyone know what the update might be resetting
