Browser problem

Apr 8, 2015 8:48AM PDT

Dear Reader,

I have a laptop computer with Windows Vista and Internet Explorer Nine. When I click on the icon to open Internet Explorer, the browser appears, but it takes a long time for the start page to appear. I am unable to go to any other websites until the start page appear.

I have had problems with websites displaying, particularly Hotmail. After I log into the website, I get a blank screen. I have to retype the website into my address bar again and press the "Enter" button to get to the email.

Finally, at least one time, after Internet Explorer had been closed for a while, it still appeared in Process Explorer as being open. I had to kill the process for the browser to be closed.

What may be causing the malfunction of the browser? How can I fix these problems?

Thank you for answering my questions. Have a fantastic day.
