Browser Loading Issues and Redirects

Nov 16, 2007 5:44AM PST

Over the past week+ I have been having trouble loading webpages on both of my Mac's. Almost any website I goto it wont load up all the items, it loads like 35/36 items or 40/41 - after that it will sit there and then sometimes redirect to an ad site.

I've tried to clear cookies, cache, history, etc, after that did not work I did a clean install of Leopard and from the moment I got up and running I still had the same issue. I've tried using MacScan and Virus barrier to no avail. I have checked to see if I have the new OS X Trojan, I don't.

The weird thing is that I have a PC Laptop which functions just fine, it only affects my Mac's. I checked the DNS address for my PC and my Mac's and they are exactly the same so I doubt its a problem with the name server.

Anyone have any ideas on other things it could be?

Just so you and I know.

You could reveal the browser in use and the ROUTER. Some version of belkin would offer an ad site if the web site did a "404". Add just a few more details so everyone can get a clear picture of your setup.

Thank you for the help, I appreciate it.

It happens when using either Safari or Firefox. I am using an Airport Extreme router and running Leopard 10.5.1 on both Macs. When I connect at work my Mac's work no problem, but when I'm at home they barely work at all (but for some reason my PC laptop works just great). Once the pages hang at like 29/30 items loaded they often goto "Error. Page cannot be displayed, please contact service provider" or I get redirected to some adbaaz, adclick, adbase site(s) - Ex: "http://ad.doubleclick.net/?prvtof=8b2VkUqfXDCVzkFGtAx9M4x3PfqFQdYPChjl0zHZgHQyOpWpelSlhh4yBxxRB6DZw15pHS9jqB8a9cdY%2BnQ2g4Mx8L3TsOk%2FBqhR0gndtUwx%2FWCRWqeWOb3irv7Bc7Q%2FzvDnnyrtcdtZAhOg0Va5UaSybB69bzhX7ef8RYkVffHyURjqxg72NFoijrEhAr3EIjt1jG134Ibn4HEYqewqr7%2B1zU26pvctkr1Y%2FjeQeiixKz%2FJ9KkktqCj2m6zbEfvFtQJhHnMlAkoxsqx%2BqFitOp5QNeSJNjhB73irFmt0FM%3D"

I have no proof or items to base this on...

But there is/was a discount ISP that redirects web browsers to ad sites. They do this as a revenue creation measure. Since your machine works fine elsewhere this is my thought on the matter.
