Install spybot search and destroy, lavasoft adaware, microsoft antispyware, yahoo toolbar with antispyware, spywareblaster and spywareguard. Use the microsoft program advanced setting and other functions only after you have cleaned your computer by running all the above apps. The ms program is the most friendly to the windows platform. You do not need to run the teatimer in spybot search and destroy. But do load up spywareguard and blaster after the cleaning with all the above. And do not forget to load the latest definitions and updates before cleaning. Also go into addremoveprograms and uninstall all programs suspect of dubious integrity by checking at spywarewarrior.com. Another helpful app is xraypc using advanced features to identify and remove ad/spyware.
For the stubborn hard to delete files, processes, etc. that do not depart using the task manager obtain killbox and process patrol. Then look in your program files folder to delete any spyware bho install files.
Look for aboutbuster and cwshredder files and keep them in your download folder when needed. Finally install hijackthis to be able to get help at the many support sites if you are not successful.btw, all of the above are free.
good luck, bw
