Browser connection

Every time I open IE I have to open File & select On Line even if I am already connected - this is very annoying - can someone help me solve this problem - thks for any suggestions - it does not happen with firefox

Have Temp files been cleaned out lateley? Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > left click on Disk Cleanup > Select Drive C > left click OK > when the scan completes left click to place a check mark beside each file type > left click OK > left click Yes.

Thanks for yr help - but no change in situation - still asks me to connect every time I open IE.

Have you tried scanning for viruses, spyware, etc? System Restore to a point prior to IE acting up?

Another option is to Repair Internet Explorer 6
