brown shading on new tv

As folk may or may not know, LCD can be made to look bad like that if you set them in a dark room and show a black image or one like in that shot. LCD may be the wrong technology for such a room. There are tomes on the web about how LCD works so I won't duplicate that here.

If you have a normally lit room it should look better. Turn out the lights and you amplify LCD shortcomings.

It's noticeable even when the room is lit and when there's picture on the screen. I just brought it to a dark screen and turned off the light to make it more noticeable for the picture I took.

It's a bargain model from what I can find.

If you want true blacks you have to find the remaining plasma models or check out OLED.
