XP doesn't do that. The yellow exclamation mark indicates there are driver conflicts occuring. There should be a driver CD that came with the CD.. If not, then clearly, your brother has a self-made CD with all the drivers downloaded? If he doesn't have that, the drivers for ALL the hardware will need to be found, downloaded and installed.. If no internet access from the problem computer, then you might be able to do it from a different computer and burn the drivers to a CD and transfer them over..
If the computer is a brand name computer, visit the manufacturer's website and check for the various drivers there.
For the internet, an ethernet driver may need to be installed.
Hope this helps.
Hey people... My brother formatted and reinstalled XP SP2 on his computer. Once it was running, his internet wouldnt work. In his Device Manager, he has a lot of Yellow !..... They are Other PCI Bridge Device, PCI Device, SM Bus Controller, and Unknown Device. He has nothing in any of his PCI slots, and only a 7300gs PCI-E graphics card. I figured this must mean that some of his motherboards drivers werent re-installed correctly, but, we couldnt find the CD for his motherboard. So I figured I would just look at what mobo it is and get the drivers from my house, but, there is nothing on the mobo that tells me what it is. On a small black peice it says nVidia and has a bunch of numbers on it that look like it means nothing. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this going on? Any ideas? Thanks a bunch.
