Brother printer mfc 255cw do not print black

Sep 21, 2015 3:56PM PDT

My Brother mfc 255cw don't print black only other colors, while ink level almost full. Using cleaning in the menu take too much ink so I injected alcohol into the black head almost 30ml, I don't know where the alcohol goes, because I just see a little came out under the printer, searching on the web I found many solutions but does not meet the problem I met. All other color are compatible but print out real good in test prints, while the black is Brother brand cost much more than others. Will someone show me how to get the black ink back.

Is this that printer from 2009?

If so, I fear that repair costs will be more than a new printer.

There might be an issue with the black cartridge not puncturing all the way when it is inserted in the printer, it may be a bad cartridge. You could run the cleaning function to try and get the cartridge primed, not sure why you went the alcohol route, I've never heard of that before and it's not recommended. That may have messed something up.
