Top Trump Organization executive asked Putin aide for help on business deal

A top executive from Donald Trump’s real estate company emailed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s personal spokesman during the U.S. presidential campaign last year to ask for help advancing a stalled Trump Tower development project in Moscow, according to documents submitted to Congress on Monday.

The request came in a mid-January 2016 email from Michael Cohen, one of Trump’s closest business advisers, who asked longtime Putin lieutenant Dmitry Peskov for assistance in reviving a deal that Cohen suggested was languishing.

One year BEFORE he was President?

Gee...I hope TheRUMP didn't feel beholdin' to Putin.

You could make this suggestion

that any and all candidates for high office should display their seriousness at the same time as they announce they are running. At that same time, they must divest themselves of all that would be required of them should they win. They must immediately cease any and all business activity that would be in conflict (or come under scrutiny) with the office they sought to hold. If they don't win...tough luck, chump. Yep. That will surely weed out a lot of people.

How 'bout requiring them to REPORT any/all business activity?

Pending business activity only??

There's already a requirement to disclose a lot of stuff. Maybe a candidate should also disclose any vacation plans as well. Maybe a candidate should disclose any plans for closed door meetings with White House interns. But, if you like to dig and compare, you can look here something that looks suspicious in Trump's disclosure...other than that his list is 5x longer than that of anyone else. Certainly no one can juggle this many plates.

You juggle the plates that you know people are award of....and/or you pretend there are NO plates.

Pending business activity only?.

At least the pies they've already had their fingers in.....

Fingers in pies....like hilLIARy?
Aug 29, 2017 10:29AM PDT

At least Trump's fingers were all legit business dealings...........and Russian 'interference' didn't come up until 8 months later (after the Jan 2016 date mentioned) according to BO himself, who did NOTHING until AFTER his candidate lost. Trump still, at the Jan date, had the right to continue his normal business since he wasn't going to be required to walk away from it until the November election handing him the keys to the WH.

Fake accusations, JP???? Still trying to make mountains out of molehills?

because HE had/has CLASS and stayed out of BO's ridiculous and destructive presidency.......BO and hilLIARy don't know the meaning of the word. YOU are the one, along with the rest of your liberals, who can't seem to be able to move on, JP.

Trump doesn't need to be defended....he's already PROVEN he's better at the job than either one of YOUR favorites were or could have been.

When your liberal buddies can finally put down the whining, crying, puppies, and violence, maybe YOU can stop defending THEM??????????

You don't bring up GWB because HE had/has CLASS and stayed out of BO's ridiculous and destructive presidency..

Wasn't GWB BEFORE Obama?

It's difficult to complain about future events...Yet here HE is, GWB complaining about Obama....He couldn't complain about future events so he complains about past events?

Classy?

In rare public comments about his successor, George W. Bush slammed President Obama’s foreign policy in a speech over the weekend.

The former president, addressing a meeting of Jewish Republican donors at The Venetian hotel in Las Vegas Saturday night, railed against Obama’s decision to ease sanctions on Iran, scoffed at his handling of ISIS and mocked his perceived indecisiveness, Bloomberg News reported.

“You think the Middle East is chaotic now?” Bush said while discussing a possible nuclear deal with Iran. “Imagine what it looks like for our grandchildren. That’s how Americans should view the deal.”

Trump doesn't need to be defended

Well, that works out good for you then (in YOUR mind)...because YOU can't/won't defend him.

Like shooting fish in a barrel.

I think so......It seems he said he'd keep silent UNLESS something HE THOUGHT wasn't right....

So Obama said...from your link

"I want to be respectful of the office and give the president-elect an opportunity to put forward his platform and his arguments without somebody popping off in every instance," Obama told reporters at an economic-cooperation summit in Lima, Peru.

But Obama warned that he wouldn't remain silent if he felt Trump's administration were attacking American values.

Obama said he'll dummy up as long as Trump does everything in a manner of which the former president approves. What a swell guy.

Actually, I'm not that sure
Aug 31, 2017 7:57AM PDT

Your post said he'd remain silent as long as he saw no attack on "American values". I wasn't aware that Obama was in charge of defining what those values are. Perhaps he should have changed the wording to indicate that he'd keep silent as long as there was no attack on what he (Barack Obama) felt that those values should be.

Count up all the criminals HE let go back into society........and then come back and talk about the ONE pardon Trump put out. I didn't hear you complaining about BO's pardons and commutations, including Manning, a complete national security traitor. Nor have I heard you mention BO's refusal to enforce the immigrations laws that are already on the books.

"And when a person has different values than the rules of law....Some give out pardons...."

So, you're NOT saying TheRUMP doesn't do "that", you're saying Obama did "that".

Like I said, you won't/can't DEFEND TheRUMP.

The "other side did it" is NOT a good defense...

And the other sides are hypocrites...and your side aren't hypocrites.

And YOU voted for "change",

BUT you can't point out any "changes/defense of TheRUMP"...all you've been doing for months is complaining about what YOU claim others have done.
