Broken Sync Cable - Is there another way?

Feb 7, 2005 3:05PM PST

I have read many forum issues regarding syncing programs with the PDAs but haven't seen this one yet...Is there a way to initially sync a new PDA to a laptop without using the sync cable.
Right out of the box the sync cable is broken! Can we use Bluetooth, IR or WiFi to get going?

"... Right out of the box ..." return it or use the warranty

The warranty should cover this. Last resort, buy a new one on eBay.

Just like LarryD stated use your warranty or buy a new one off of ebay for a cheap/reasonable price. No other methods that I know of.

Sync via IR is possible..

but I've read that it is painfully slow. I don't know what type of PDa you own, but if it's a Palm, you can select the connection (under Prefs) to either IR to PC or other ways but I would think that it is very slow.

You may want to try to fix and replace the cable. WholesalePDA seems to sell lots of PDA parts including cables for some handhelds.
