Broken screen now motherboard broken

by Bibba1 / November 12, 2014 10:51 PM PST

Basically my lapto screen broke and I took it to a repair shop to fix. The first time the guy managed to fix it perfectly fine but he wanted money which I didn't have at the time so I told him to put the old screen back until I get the money . He did so. This was end of sept .this month I took back to the same guy and he says yes he will fix it ..only to go back and collect it he now tells me the motherboard is broken and that my laptop is now trash. When he fixed it the first time it worked fine and motherboard was not mentioned.. Could he have damaged my laptop and now trying to make me feel that I did something wrong for waiting till I got some money to pay him?

And you didn't get an estimate prior to having the tech repair/replace the screen assembly???

Time pasted and now return to a laptop already handled before. No way to prove fault if you go that way. I wouldn't trust that repair person though for now, try another repair service, if at all possible. Of course, if the mtrbd. is kaput, costs rise. You may want to check Craigslist or eBay and find the same model laptop, and swap HDs and it will be good to go in most cases. At least check pricing via those vendors.
