A cd/dvd lens cleaner and then... replace the device. With wallymart prices, it's highly doubtful you will get a repair shop to beat its replacement cost.

My DVD player is reading "no disk" - when there is a DVD in the machine. I am wondering if it is possible to erase the memory to a DVD player if a computer disk is put in by mistake. It tries try to read the DVD as it shows the loading symbol for about a minute and then the "no disk".
The machine is just over a year old ( and of course the guarantee is no longer valid) and was an inexpensive brand. It has barely been used - maybe half a dozen times if that.
I have tried various DVDs, CD's and have unplugged and replugged the system back in. Ever since a computer CD was put in by mistake - it no longer works.
Any other idea - before I attempt to take it to a repair shop.
