Broadcasting Problems with Camcorder

I recently purchased a Sony Handycam DCR-TRV340 off of eBay. I planned to use it to broadcast live feed from my TV to play video games (on the site I purchased a stereo condenser microphone as well so that I could talk to my fans as I played my video games.

I've only gotten BOTH the TV and external audio to work together once. But as soon as the camcorder ran out of battery life and died, I haven't been able to get it back to that point. So now my fans have to either deal with bad TV audio quality or no commentary from me, which they hate all the more.

Is there something I can tinker with in the camcorder to make it start working again? Thank you.
