Or loop. I think that would indeed have issues. Back to TP-Link to ask if they support such a setup. I know I would not set that up or field it.
Hi,
Im fairly new to networking but I have been given the task of linking 10 TP-Link SG2424 & SG2452 Smart Switches in a ring using fibre. I have turned on RSTP. There are between 10 and 30 devices connected to each switch. When I first set it up everything worked fine and the ring was working correctly with RSTP blocking a port on the Fibre to save a loop being created but it suddenly stopped working after 3 days and a Broadcast storm now occurs every time I plug the last fibre in to create a loop and all devices and the server PC crash. If I unplug the last fibre from any switch to have a non loop system, all devices work and communicate fine but I need the loop for redundancy purposes as it is a large air conditioning system in a bank controlling data centre cooling etc. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? I have attached a basic network diagram that I created.
