Resolved Question

Broadcast option grayed out

I have a Samsung smart TV, 8 Series. I am unable to access the Broadcast option in settings - grayed out. I have learned that to fix this i might have to access the Service Menu, but the examples of how to access the service menu use a different remote than I have. My 'smart' remote has no numeric keypad, and no mute, info, or menu buttons. Is there a way to access the service menu with this remote/ Or - basic question - how to ungray the broadcast option?

I remember this to happen when

There is no antenna connected. As to service menu, due to the number of folk that brick their set and incur a big service or repair bill, no moderator I know will write anything but no, stay out of the service menu.

Remember

No one but you can accept responsibility for using the Service Menu.
And you must have the other remote to use the Service Menu.
I've run into folk that demand a fix without the full remote. Sorry but I disagree here as sometimes you have to get the right tools.

Is this a Hotel TV? Maybe Hotel Mode is on?
