Broadband wont connect on another comp

Sep 25, 2005 1:50PM PDT

Hello

My problem is that i have a laptop that cannot connect using my existing home cable connection. It was a used laptop in which i removed a number of programs including AOL V7 and V8. After i have tried to use my cable connection but even though it recognizes the connection on the system tray, the browsers i have wont recognize the signal. I have tried to manually configure it to recognize it without much help. Its running on Windows XP and using both Mozilla and IE. any help would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem before.. You should try unplugging the power and the LAN cable from the modem. Wait a few minutes. Plug in the Power and then the LAN cable. See if that works for you. And if that doesn't work then try doing different combinations of that. The modem just needs to be unplugged from it's power and it'll reconfigure to your computer.
I really hope this works for you. I know how much it sucks not having internet when you should.
