Broadband speed avalible a joke

hi, was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out. The best internet speed that i can get provided is 0.5mps usually runs at 0.3. I have just had enougth of this. I think my area is 2mps according to my postcode, but my phone line is 0.5mps. Is there anyway i can get 2mps or better??

absolutely nothing about your system or your ISP, I'm afraid the answer is no.

Hint, hint.

Operating system? Broadband what? Provider? Home network or just a modem? Have you complained to the unknown provider?

My line is provided by BT, my current isp is AOL, i use a modem, i have not complained to BT, my operating system is windows vista on my laptop and xp on pc. I phoned Aol and they said the maximun they can provided me on my line is 512kps. is that enougth information? sorry i didnt include in my first post

I assume you have a DSL connection.

They pretty much capped the speed. Not bad for DSL. You might get a slight increase by going here http://www.broadbandreports.com/ Click the Tools link and run in this order.

Speed Test.

Tweak Test.

Install Dr. TCP and make the changes that might be suggested in the Tweak Test. Reboot.
