Brightness/Luminance/Saturation on DELL3007WFPHC

Jan 14, 2010 1:19AM PST

Im a Graphic Designer (Print) on a Mac Pro tower (Intel, Quad-core) with an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT video card and the above mentioned Dell monitor (30")

IS there ANY WAY/ANY UTILITY I can use to get to the NVIDIA card to adjust my monitor's brightness or color settings? Ive calibrated with Pantone's Colormunki, but I'm pretty sure my monitor is too bright and over saturated to reproduce accurate color in printed materials. Im finding that the innaccurate color reproduction occurs mostly with blues/purples and lighter tints of those and other colors.

Ive used the very minimalist settings on the face of the monitor, but would still like to bring the brightness down further. Thanks for any input. Im at my wits end searching color-management and other web-forums and info sources. More than anything I need some assurance that my color repro wont be so off. I have a call into get a profile from the printer, but for some reason, I'm not terribly confident about that. Time will reveal.

I'd be grateful for some advice!
K
