Brightening a google satellite image

Dec 26, 2013 6:48AM PST

I have a Mac desktop with OS X version 10.6.8 Is there a way I can make the colors in a particular google satellite image brighter? I want to print out the image and then write callout letters 1,2, etc. on it, but as the image is now, it's so dark my letters hardly stand out.

My only graphic app is iPhoto. I did as you suggested, mrmacfixit, and brightened the image in iPhoto, which worked nicely. Thank you both very much.
