Question

Bright White Dot on laptop screen coming again and again!!

Jul 6, 2018 11:49PM PDT

Recently, I saw a white bright spot at the right corner of my screen. I called the service center and got the screen replaced with a new one but within a week another bright spot has occurred on the screen again. I asked the service center, they are ready to replace the display but I want to know the reason behind this issue. I searched on the internet and found this issue can occur due to the screen being on for a certain amount of time or like that, but can it happen to a new lcd too? It would be really helpful if someone can help me with it or can give me the actual reason why it could be happening. P.S. The screen was not physically damaged and what I observed was that both time, when I experienced this issue, the previous day I had my laptop charging on sleep, Is it any way related to it ? It will be very helpful if someone can help me with it !!!!!!!

Does this show on an external display (set it to mirror!) If it does, it's not the LCD but something else.

The bright white dot is not displayed on any external display, it's just on my laptop screen. My laptop got installed a new lcd screen but within a week a new bright spot was there on a different location. What could be the problem? Any Idea, Any one?

Remember this.

Dell and other makers buy these screens in large lots to get the best price. So if there is a defect it can be in the lot.

Back to the maker or repair center to tell them it's back.

Yes!

Yes, I called them and they are ready to replace but I just wanted to know the reason behind it happening again and again!

It's 99% likely

The reason I gave. The maker bought them in a large lot and if they are so ready to replace it, it is possible they know the problem in the batch and are working through the batch.

This is what that repair warranty is all about.

And this is where owners get riles. The repair is not guaranteed to be without problems. The warranty is that if we didn't fix it, we'll do it again.

Seems the only option...

...is to put a black mark over it with "magic marker pen", since that's less distracting than a bright white dot.
