Brian Tong on BOL

Oct 28, 2010 5:25AM PDT

Brian Tong on BOL everyday now? Seriously, CNET is scrapping the bottom of the barrel. I have listened everyday since ep. 100 or so and things have just been getting worse and worse. From the constant revolving door of guest hosts, the bashing and negativity it was getting under my skin. Now the B. Tong is here to stay, I'm leaving BOL. Brian is sooooo annoying who in their right mind would give him a podcast. He breaks out signing every 2 mins, interupts all the time to tell bad jokes and he doesn't stand his ground when he has an opinion. Im sure hes a great guy and nothing againstst him personally, but he needs to tone it down about 300 notches before i'd listen. Plus Molly is part time now. So basically its the Brian Tong show. Get Darren Kitchen!!! Thank you for years of your hard work and entertainment.

P.S.
Does anyone ever update the website? There's tons of stuff for Tom Merritt and Jason Howell still on the website.

Brian Tong on BOL

I am OK with Brian Tong being on BOL at least Rafe wasn't stolen by TWIT.

You never know, the combo might work. However, I believe one of the hosts has to be able to get the show back on the rails...

Agreed

His singing is beyond infuriating. Tong sucks, bad. And that stupid voice he puts on that's like half metro-sexual, half gangster. I don't know what the hell that is but he does it a few times every show. Really annoying guy.

I thought a Molly/BT or Rafe/Bell combo would do well so I'm glad to see that this is the way they went. I think their styles will mesh well together and like Molly said this will be a different show.

Been a good run but...

This show is turning into Gadgettes 5 days a week. With the new cast Molly has gone from insightful but sometimes off the rails to full blown annoying. Brian Tong is just an awful fit. Oh well... at least TWIT has some of the better staff so I guess I will just have to get my tech news there. At least they made 1337 before exploding in flames.

Bye, BOL.

Listening to Brian Tong and Molly Wood discuss Constitutional law is now on my short list of "things I never want to hear again."

I've stuck with BOL for a LONG time- started listening when it was Tom, Molly, and Veronica, kept listening through all the changes: Molly leaving as a full-time host, the Natali months, the rotating hosts, the Rafe months... but I'm done with the show. It's no longer BOL to me. I used to look forward to listening to it every morning, but the past couple of weeks TNT has been my morning listen.

Me too

They say nothing lasts forever, and I guess it's true in this case also. I've noticed over the past several months that the quality of the show has dropped off. Too much goofing around now. Unfortunate for me as I have listened to the show for years almost everyday while on my evening walks. It was one of those things you could count on and look forward to even after a bad day at work.

I thought I was the only one. Brian Tong has made BOL completely unbearable to me. I could handle him for a few episodes when he first started, but I've always hated this guy's personality. I have nothing against gay people, but this guy is just extremely annoying. Please get rid of him!

Huh?

"...nothing against gay people". That seems pretty gratuitous. I'm no fan of Tong, but???

Silent majority some be less silent

Some people don't like the way BOL has gone and they've voiced their opinion. Are they the majority? If so then BOL might change again. If they are a part of a vocal minority and the majority like the current lineup, you should speak up now or forever hold your peace.

on a few forum posts, right? I'm pretty sure CNET has better metrics than this to tell how well the BOL is going.
