Break Contract

Jan 8, 2005 11:15PM PST

I realize from reading on this forum, that I can break a long term contract from my server by going to talktrader.
My question is, that I want to stay with the same server, but want a different phone.
If I continue with my 2 yr. contract, I am eligible for a free phone upto 100.00.
Now if I sell my contract, would I still be eligible for a free phone, if I sign another contract?

For new service only. If you haven't completed your contract (or the person you sold it to) it will be at full price or near full price I believe.

TalkTrader.com Can Sell Your Phone Contract

crossing23,

It depends on who your provider is. For the most part when your cell phone contract is signed over you are no longer a customer and should be able to sign up for new service with the same cell phone provider.

Hope This Helps

Do the Cell Phone Providers Honor the transfer of Contracts?
Feb 17, 2005 11:33AM PST

The only option that I have in activating my car phone is to switch carriers. I have cingular with about 5 months left on my contract. My car Phone for cingular is TDMA only and cingular will not activate. I can get a used Verizon phone reasonably inexpensive that will work with my car and that is CDMA and they should activate. However, I need to get out of my cingular contract to do it. Does cingular allow for the transfer? Plan is GSM originated out of Southern California $49 a month for two phones with 750 anytime minutes. I would think that there might be some interest by someone to take over my contract. Any advice out there?

Because there are so many providers and they all have rules that change your best bet is to contact Cingular and tell them what you want to do, they can give you all the details. Navigate the voice prompts as if you where going to cancel service.

http://www.talktrader.com has the Cingular 1-800 number if you need it.

Or just post your cellphone on TalkTrader.com , and see if anyone contacts you.
