BRANDS OF MEMORY STICK FOR SONY DIGITAL CAMERAS

Feb 27, 2005 1:55AM PST

I am planning a trip to Europe and need additional memory sticks for my Sony DSC-P72 Digital camera. Costco had a good price for a Scandisk 512 MB memory stick PRO. Can I used this brand??

I currently have Lexar 256 MB, but Lexar's 512 MB memory stick is pricey.

HELP. LEAVING ON MARCH 7TH. THANKS.

I would buy SANDISK, but would question if there is a SCANDISK brand.

GOING TO COSTCO NOW

I am sure you are correct. There are only a few manufacturers who make memory sticks for the Sony digitals. So should I buy it??

I appreciate your immediate response. I'm new to the digital camera arena.

Since its the Pro stick...

I'd still check to see if the camera supports the 512MB size, but from what I've been seeing, if it's a Pro stick then you're good for 1GB+ stick support.

I have SD cards of 512MB now and they have been very nice on the 4MP cameras.

Just returned from Costco and they do NOT carry the 512 Scandisk memory stick. Went online and found even better pricing. Read my manual and it will support up to 1 GB of memory PRO sticks.

You are certainly knowledgeable about these digital cameras. I love mines and will probably end up buying
1 GB instead. Thanks again.
