Brand new HP laptop CPU is running over 100 degrees celsius?

Jan 27, 2015 5:26AM PST

Had this laptop less than a week , right out of the box after setting it up I thought it seemed to run hot in comparision to an Asus we have, but I figured maybe thats the way HP's are. Well I noticed today it seemed really hot so I did my research and downloaded Speccy, needless to say I am glad I did, the CPU while playing a game of pool thru a facebook app hit 111 celsius. So I contacted HP they told me to send it back it needs to be repaired. Here is my question even thought this thing is only a week old, do I really want to send it in for repairs, I'm thinking running that hot it may have done some damage to other components but the damage hasnt surfaced yet. I think they should send me a brand new computer Any thoughts or suggestions..

My last HP
Jan 27, 2015 5:59AM PST

Was buggy from day one. It took a few months to figure out what was going on and off it went to HP. The laptop returned in a week and was worse than before. Calls to HP did not get any offer to fix it with reps stating "we've done all we can" and "You should have bought an Envy.

Return for exchange is my call.

Thanks for the offer.

I've shared the details with prior HP Social reps and the awful story is that at 3 months the machine was back from repair, locking up in 5 minutes and after 6 months of calls and web surveys the office learned that HP was not going to take care of their product.

I no longer have this model but can't imagine how HP could set this right after this much time. Imagine folk without an office to supply them a replacement.

Click on my name to drop me a line and I'll forward the docs I have on this one. It's been some time since this occurred but you can imagine I don't buy or advise to buy this company's product.

Returned
Feb 10, 2015 9:44AM PST

I was hoping to purchase a different laptop from H.P. but after dealing HOURS with the C.S.dept. I decided to go with a different brand with a more reputable C.S. dept. I was told many different things from many different people. It was the absolute worst exp. I have ever had with any company. Needless to say they lost a customer. If anyone is thinking about purchasing an H.P. product I strongly advise against it.

My call to HP on my last HP was over 8 hours long.

I got the feeling they were trying to wear me down. But I had set aside the entire day, had cordless phones, water bottles and snacks all at the ready.

Not my first rodeo.
