How I see most get in...

The usual is the exclusive use of Internet Explorer. Here's some passages for you to chew through.

" Some of the really sleazy parasites, particularly homepage-hijackers and diallers, execute by exploiting security holes in Internet Explorer, ways of getting code to run that are not supposed to be possible, but are due to mistakes in the browser code. "

" It is possible to reduce exposure to these vulnerabilities by using a different web browser, especially when browsing untrusted sites. Such a decision may, however, reduce the functionality of sites that require IE-specific features such as DHTML, VBScript, and ActiveX. Note that using a different web browser will not remove IE from a Windows system, and other programs may invoke IE, the WebBrowser ActiveX control, or the HTML rendering engine (MSHTML). "

For my part, the machines at home have all Internet Explorer links removed and the remaining use of IE is only for Windows Update. Since doing this, the results of Spybot, Adaware, and Housecall scans have found nothing.

Your choice on the matter.

Last idea.

Well maybe. Take a deeper look with these two programs...

The first program I suggest is BHODEMON. It's very simple to use and you won't have much to research since... I've seen all of 6 BHOs on even an infected system. For some odd reason, this is an area that some tools miss.

The next program takes a lot more work. It's HIJACKTHIS. That one is best to make a log file and start digging. Be very careful about blasting off an item. Be very sure about it.
