BPS Spyware Adware (Proper Removal)

by DADSGETNDOWN / September 11, 2006 1:13 PM PDT

Hello, I have found through here that Bps Spyware Adware (BulletProofSoftware) is a Rogue, I had version
9.02.0008 which was installed to,
C:\Program Files\BulletProofSoft.com\BPS Spyware & Adware Remover
When I used the update feature it updated to,
9.03.0007, installed to,
C:\Program Files\BulletProofSoft.com\BPS Spyware Remover.
Notice the 2 different folders, I just checked and for some wierd Reason I DO NOT see it listed in my Win98SE ADD/Remove Programs. Although I do see an Uninstall Feature in the Start/Programs Area, "C:\Program Files\BulletProofSoft.com\BPS Spyware Remover\unins000.exe".

Each folder has a seperate unins000.exe.
I believe SpyBot S&D and CCleaner both have a Uninstall Feature, to insure the most complete Removal which way should I uninstall this er THESE 2. Seperately via the unins000.exe in the folders ?, and what about searching for files and stuff in the REG ?.which files ?. or whatever...!

Hi Marianna, and thanks, maybe you could help me a bit more, I am not seeing what I am thinking I'm supposed to be. I went to that link

and I see it says to go to Add/Remove Programs down on the right, BUT The wierd thing about that it it's not in there like it should be, and when I read through the paragraph there the only link I seen was the word GUIDE, that takes me to what looks like thier main page of info before you post, I have had all those programs run them etc etc, but I have not posted my hijackthis log there, since that's not what I Think I'm after. ? To uninstall.

Did you run the tools mentioned?

you ran the tools (programs) mentioned in the "guide" ??

You ran at least one on-line scan?

If it is still there, I would suggest downloading HJT, run it and post it at the Bleepingcomputer HJT forum. They will then help you to remove it completely.
