BP says oil leak is stopped, at least for now.

BP says it has temporarily stopped oil flowing into the Gulf of Mexico from its leaking well.

It is the first time the flow has stopped since an explosion on the Deepwater Horizon rig on 20 April.

The well has been sealed with a cap as part of a test of its integrity that could last up to 48 hours.

leakage, seepage or clouding. Tests so far have been positive, but there are more to be done before anyone will say it's settled. If BP is responsible they deserve credit for finally stopping the disaster they created.
Because of the repercussions in the natural world, this success in no way mitigates the original disaster but it may rectify the disaster in a few years when the ecosystem has returned to normal.
