There is a contact form linked to from the GameSpot Help Center, which can be used for cases such as this. It does not require a login, so you can just fill in your new/current e-mail address. I would provide a summary of what has happened, including your username and old e-mail address. However, I would not include your credit card number or other sensitive information as the form and e-mail is not secure. Instead I would request that they provide you with a phone number that you can call, through which you may provide proof of your identity.
Good luck.
John
P.S. It might be a good idea to keep a list of people and services you give your e-mail address(es) to, making it easier to send out notifications and update account information and thereby reducing the chances of ending up in this situation again.
I am seriously so angry right now, I am thinking of never using cnet's services ever again. I hav a Gamespot account. I have not used it in quite some time. I went to log in, and I can't. So... I go to the forgotten password link, and enter my email address. It does not recognize my email address. So I think they cancelled the account. I go to sign up, and it says my username is already in use. So I go back again and start thinking of ALL the email addresses I have had in the past. I finally get the right one, which happens to be for cox.net, an ISP issued address I have not had in 4 Years. So I cannot access the email address to check it for the message Gamespot sends. So I try to go to Gamespots forums for help, but I cannot post a mesasage to ASK FOR HELP without logging in. So I have a paid account that gets billed to me, that I can't access and the site is deliberately setup to avoid providing you with ANY information to contact support, other than posting a message on te board, WHICH YOU CANNOT DO UNLESS YOU LOG IN!!!! Does ANYONE at Cnet (the company that OWNS Gamespot) have any idea who can fix this or help me?
