Box with red x !

The latest e-mail from CNet, contained many small boxes with the red x, which I asume to be pictures. I am running Windows XP. The pictures will not display. This is not the first time I've encounted this problem. I've played with the security settings on the PC. No luck. Suggestions?

Click onto TOOLS, Go to Internet Options then open Advanced page at the bottom of the page click on Restore Defaults then on Apply. check through list to ensure that pictures are enabled.

Thanks very much phatdaddy. Your reply prompted me to check the Tools/options in O/E, where I found that I was blocking images in HTML e-mail!

I too, have experienced 'the red x.' I usually close that e-mail and check it out later. when I did, all loaded up normally.

Probable you subscribed to receive the HTML emails. They're pointing to different servers in order to grab the pictures. If the connection between PC and those servers is slow, the image won't load, so you'll see those red X boxes.
