Bought used,formatted hd,What file sys?

Jan 5, 2012 3:06AM PST

I bought a used Mac Book, has Linux on it now, I have Lion op on the way. I don't know much about Mac and would like to know what file system to format the hard drive to. Or will the new install disc do that for me? I thought I posted this ? earlier but got a phone call & couldn't find it. So if I posted twice I'm so sorry.
Thanks for any help!!!!!

OS X Extended (Journaled), it's the right one.
Before you actually hit the "GO" button, choose Options and select GUID instead of MBR or Apple
