Bought a Sony 42" HDTV (KDF-E42A10) need some help

Oct 11, 2005 11:31PM PDT

Bought this TV on saturday at Circuit City. I have it connected to a Comcast Cable box by a Monster Cable with DVI on one side and HSMI on the other. (My cable box doesn't have an HDMI slot). Sometimes when I turn the TV on, I see a double image. Hard to explain, but it looks like the TV is split into 2 screens with a line going vertically down the middle of the screen. For instance, if I turn the TV on and it is on ESPN, I see 2 sportscenter desks, one on the left side of the TV and another on the right. But if I change the channel everything is fine. The problem doesn't seem to occur any other time. This has me worried, is there something wrong with the TV, or the input, or the wire? Thanks for your help!

Does this only happen on 1 channel??? Does it go away when you change the channel?? Does it come back if you switch back to the first channel.
Comcast usualy will supply a cable for HD if you subscribe to the HD package.
"or the wire?" I can't give you names but I was told by a Comcast installer that they replace a lot of MC stuff. John

Well, it has noyl happened with ESPn, but that may be b/c that is usually the channel I leave the TV o when I turn it off. It goes away the second I turn the channel and doesn't come back.

Comcast gave me component video cables for the box. I was told by numerous people to use the HDMI since it proves a better signal.
