Bought a Samsung LN-T4061F need to know about problems.

Jul 23, 2007 10:34AM PDT

Just bought a Samsung LNT4061F and have been noticing some jaggies and random screen tearing while playing PS3 and XBOX 360that I havent noticed on other HDTV's. The PS3 is hooked with HDMI and 306 with component. Is this a problem then can be fixed with a firmware update or did I purchase a bad TV?

They're all normal HD PS3 and 360 games. The jaggies are not that bad but semi noticeable. I have an extended 4yr warranty so I guess I'll wait until something major goes wrong then take it back.

I think the TV may have an older firmware and "board"... whatever a board is... motherboard? Who knows!

But yeah, thanks anyways.

Warranty or Garrantee?

"I have an extended 4yr warranty so I guess I'll wait until something major goes wrong then take it back."
Do you really think this? Who told you you could do this?
You might be surprised to find out that a warranty repairs a TV, not replaces it.

model Firmware Ver. 1032
Aug 15, 2007 12:08PM PDT

New firmware just realist, best bet is to call 800-samsung and request a Field Engineer and not a regular service center to come out and replace the main board first, not only will it have the latest firmware but also the latest chip set. Only 80 Field Engineer in the country if you?re lucky to have one in your are make sure you get him to do the job. Samsung will only dispatch these techs for premium work, make sure you request for them or you?ll get Joe Blow from your local 711 practicing TV repairs on the side.

Samsung LN-T4061F Firmware mistake!!
May 28, 2008 10:09AM PDT

I did this firmware update also.
20080417142514781_T-TULIP is the file name downloaded strait from Samsung's website.

Followed the online instructions they are very simple, and just after the TV rebooted the TV went to ****!

I called Samsung right away and they have to find someone in the area willing to come take a look at the TV there closest rep is over 300 miles away.

Then I got on the phone with circuit city asked about going to the store and swapping it out for a new one. They told me they will have to send a tech over to take a look first if it cost more to repair it then it is worth then I can have it replaced. So basically that 400 ESP I bought at time of purchase is like prepaying for a tech to come look at the TV, not a simple swap out for a new one like I hoped.

Now I will have to go all week with a messed up TV no PS3 no TV for the most part still can listen to weather and the news LOL.
