That is one of the downsides to using the partition-based restore feature: if the boot manager becomes corrupt, the restore feature is generally unusable. Your best bet is to search for the CDs/DVDs you burned when you bought the computer, or order a new set from the manufacturer for a nominal fee.

Hey,
Recently tried setting my laptop to original setting due to backlog of stuff stored that was no longer needed. However while it was processing this my battery disconnected and now i am unable to use the laptop as have "BOOTMGR is Missing" displayed on the screen. Have tried using Active Boot Disk Recovery but that leave the laptop saying "boot file not found". The laptop is an E Systems 3115, running Windows Vista 32bit.
Am Really stuck. Would Appreciate any help possible.
