Booting problems with laptop

by snuggles1977 / December 31, 2004 5:18 AM PST

Hi guys,

I am having problems booting my laptop, it is a HP Pavilion ze4111s laptop, installed with Windows XP Home edition. I have tried using all the system recovery disks that came with the laptop and tried rebooting from the cd-rom but nothing is working. It says eventually when it does something after test bios that HP EEPROM has been reinitialized and to resume or enter setup. when booting from cd-rom and pressing to resume, it says "wrong CD for this notebook".

Any assistance in this matter would be appreciated.

HP DV1000 Memory upgrade Problem
by mrgcav / December 2, 2007 7:51 AM PST

I own a HP Laptop DV1000 series (DV1622nr). I upgraded the memory. I am very experienced and have done laptop memory upgrades before without any problems.
It came with 2 x 256MB, DDR333, PC2700, Sodimms (Part number 367773-001)

I was working fine before the memory upgrade.
I installed the new memory, EXTREMELY carefully, with the power disconnected.

I installed a 1 GB Samsung Type: PC3200 (DDR400) Part #: K4H1G0838A-TCCC.
Immediately upon reboot laptop began to beep four short beeps and will not display video. So I reinstalled the original memory exactly as it originally was. I rebooted again and the laptop began to beep again, four short beeps and will not display video.

Question is: What did I do wrong?
What do the beeps indicate ?
How do I repair it ?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
