Resolved Question

Booting issue with laptop Lenovo u310 Windows 8.1 64

May 14, 2014 1:48AM PDT

Hello

I can not turn on my computer, the screen is just black and power is not comming out of USB ports. I have to turn off and on several times and then it somehows turn on.

Problem does not exist when i put my laptop into sleep mode, then i can turn it back on without any problem. When it is on i dont have any problems either i can run games/ programs it does not overheat or shut down. The biggest issue is when i have to instal a program that makes my computer restart :S ( or windows update).

Please help : )
Greetings

Looks pretty new.

The only bad news I have is that a few months back another make/model did that and we were fortunate to clone the HDD before it failed. This is NOT to say that's what is going on here but you should backup what you can't lose now while you have the chance.

", the screen is just black and power is not comming out of USB ports."

That could be many things from a bad power button (the actual button is not visible) to a motherboard fault. It looks quite new so let them fix it. If it's just a week old go to where you bought it and exchange it.

It's classic symptoms

It's classic symptoms of bad caps (google it), but Bob's ideas are also very possible. All of which basically require some kind of hardware replacement, so if it's under warranty, make it someone else's problem to fix.
