Boot Ubuntu from NAS?

I am thinking about getting one of these:
Network drives (1tb) to attatch to my router via ethernet. I would like to format it like so:

200gb - HFS+ - Soon to be possible MacBook Backup (Time Machine)
250gb - NTFS - Windows Backup
50GB - EXT3 - Bootable Ubuntu OS?
500gb - EXT3 - Storage (eg. iTunes library, Photos)

I have put a '?' next to Ubuntu because I don't know if this is possible... easily... - To have a bootable Ubuntu partition on a network drive. My current bootloader is GRUB. If I could use that it would be nice but my BIOS is quite locked down (Acer Computer). I have 1 Vista computer also running Ubuntu, an XP an a possible MacBook for the future. (When I get the funds). Anyone Know?
