Boot sequence may be wrong

Nov 28, 2004 3:30AM PST

This is my error code whenever i attempt to boot up my system.(OS-XP-PRO, 256MB, 1.3Ghz)
"Searching for boot record from SCSI.. NOT FOUND"
"Boot failure."
"Insert BOOT diskette in A"
"PRESS ANY KEY TO ENTER"
Presently my boot sequence is as follows
(1) IDE-0
(2) FLOPPY
(3) CDROM
Now what should be my sequence?

That looks proper. In fact this is PROPER if one has a SCSI controller card in the machine. But you haven't told what IDE hard disk you have.

The hard disk may have failed, come unplugged.

You have to know your machine.

I can only note that the sequence looks right, the error message is OK for a machine with a SCSI controller.

Past that, you have to know what is in the machine. From the looks of it, the hard disk is unplugged, failed or disabled in the BIOS.
