Question

boot problem

Aug 30, 2017 9:05AM PDT

Hi, since I have pc i have pretty weird booting problem. Once every 10-15 boots my computer doesnt boot. It freezes just before the Windows screen should appear and then it turns off. Then i turn it on again and it works. While using a pc there is absolutely no issue, games, programs and all that stuff just works great. It doesnt turn off by itself only sometimes while booting.
I checked RAM with memtest, I did stress test on my cpu and there is no issue. And I havent overclocked anything. I tried different CSM options but it didnt do anything, I also tried enabling /disabling fast boot, but the problem remained. The weird thing is that it happens sometimes while booting and this inconsistency is pretty strange. So if anyone could help I would be really greatful
My pc:
cpu i7 6700k
gpu: gtx 970
ram: corsair vengence 3000mhz 16gb
mobo: asus z170 gaming pro
system: windows 10
hard drive: SSD samsung evo 2 x 500gb (RAID 0)
PSU : be quiet! Pure Power BQT L8-CM-630W
So any suggestions??

PSU

But if it was a PSU there would be problem also while using it on a high load - gaming etc, but it doesnt happen. It switches off only between post and windows screen - in this particular moment. And it switches off 1 out of 15 boots (more less)

Check your BIOS version

Look for a newer one and flash it on.

No. (PSU question) Why?
Aug 30, 2017 10:48AM PDT

Because when the PSU is cold the electrolytic caps which like heat are at their lowest capacity.
So a slightly overtaxed PSU when cold does exactly what you wrote. I'm not going to google and supply priors here as it's well done. Baked, toasted and more.

OK, be sure the BIOS is current and I'll be back with a Speccy reading.

There are a few things you can try to squeak by.

Speccy reading. What I would do.

This is not to claim this will fix the issue since the PSU is highly suspect. If you can, move the GPU to the other rail.

1. Nice machine overall. Except that PSU which I would not buy due to dual rails.
2. Java. Uninstall for now unless you know you need it.
3. Power Profile. Set all in this section to never or none till problem solved.
4. Some items I couldn't read. Using:
https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fspeccy.piriform.com%2Fresults%2Fch5SshHmb3iWVfzpu6IfWTh&edit-text=&act=url

5. USB THINGS? Leave USB devices unplugged for now. Less load, etc.

6. BIOS is current according to Speccy and Asus.

7. DVD drive. Unplug till issue resolved. Little less load.

Very clean Speccy. But there are a few minor things we can try to squeak by.

Thanks a lot for advice, I'll try those tips. But what if it's PSU's fault? It's under warranty. Do you think the store will accept reclamation?

Actually I didn't know that it was in warranty.

Also I can't tell you what they will do but you have a warranty situation now.
