I have an iPod Nano 1st generation and I watched a video here on cnet tv on how to install rockbox on it (rockbox.org). I downloaded the .rockbox folder and the ipodpatcher (I'm using OS X). I dragged the .rockbox folder into the ipod, launched ipodpatcher (think its the bootmanager)and disconnected my iPod. When I turned it on it showed the silver apple on a black background and then it displayed white writing on a black screen which reads:
Rockbox boot loader
IPOD version: 0x000c0005
No partition found
Hold MENU+SELECT to
reboot then SELECT+PLAY
for disk mode
So I pressed MENU+SELECT and it rebooted but when I pressed SELECT+PLAY nothing happened (I do not think my play button works too well). When I plug it into my computer all that happens is that the iPod charges but it does not show up(not even on the disk utility). So now I am stuck with that black screen and that text. How do get the computer to recognize it so I can format it?(I tried both OS X and XP)What should I do?
TIA for any help (I really need it if I want to ever use my iPod again)
